SHRUNKEN HEADS Tsantsa Trophies and Human Exotica

SHRUNKEN HEADS Tsantsa Trophies and Human Exotica

By James L. Castner This is a very well made and photographed book that covers everything about shrunken heads including how they are made, authentication, and use. Traditionally made and used by the Shuar (Jivaro) Indians of Ecuador and Peru for ceremonial purposes this curiosity has intrigued many and fueled the making of many reproductions and non ceremonial heads. Through many examples and photos this book explains the difference between ceremonial heads and reproductions and fakes. This book is easy to read and understand with many full page color photos and over 40 different examples of shrunken heads. New and unused condition, hard cover, 8 1/2" x 11", 160 pages. Published in 2002 by Feline Press.
