INDO618: Dayak Mandau Sword

A fine 19th century Mandau sword, most likely from the Ibanic tribes of Sarawak. The antler handle has intricate designs of Aso, leaches, horns and sprouts as does the very intricately carved wood scabbard. The well forged blade has brass inlay and Aso / hornbill decorated top back edge. The overall patina is good and dark form age and use. Mounted on a custom metal base.
