PH210: Philippine Gong Handle

Northern Philippine gong handle in the form of a double-sided figure and two horse heads on a custom brass base. This beautifully carved piece has a tuft of horsehair at the top, and a great patina from age and use. It is made of two separate pieces and would have had a brass gong hanging from the cord that was played for ceremony and dance. One of the horse faces has been glued back into place.
