A very old and well carved Gope Board in the form of a small paddle. The intricate relief carving has a multi-image head near the top, and a full figure near the bottom. The natural pigment color is original, and the overall patina is great from age and use. According to Richard Aldridge, field collector in this area, this type of Gope-Paddle was used in ceremonies commemorating the ancestors arrival by canoe to their present location.
