INDO418: Dayak Mandau Sword
Dayak Mandau sword with intricate handle, and well carved scabbard. The antler handle is intricately carved with leach and horn motifs, two see-through spirals and a large Aso on the top. The original fiber wrap, hair and pitch block are all present and in good condition. The scabbard is original and well carved with similar Dayak traditional designs. The blade is quality forged with chisel designs running down the surface. A high quality complete sword in good condition.
Previously in the Sherrod Anderson collection, Virginia.
