INDO616: Dayak Workboard

A beautiful and well carved Dayak workboard of hard dark wood. The intricately carved image of a monster face with large round eyes is reversible and creates a different figure in each direction. The original owner intended to continue carving as you can see the starting of further carvings down the length of the board. The back side is well used with cut marks and great patina as this side was used for a work surface when beading, doing rattan work and other jobs where a lap top surface was needed.
