PH746: Ifugao Head Axe

A good old Ifugao head axe with a large and heavy blade. These simple axes were serious weapons and tool for the Ifugao and Bontok headhunters of Luzon. The steel head is well forged and quite large. The wood handle has a steel color and a good patina from age and use.     

17" overall with an 11" blade that is 4 3/8" wide and 5/16" thick at the back edge. 19th century Luzon, Northern Philippines.    ....$600.00
