INDO784: Dayak Beaded Hat

A fine and rare Dayak had with two beaded panels. The beads are very small and both panels are almost identical and in good condition. The base of the hat is woven rattan thetas covered with old red trade cloth. There ae remnants of the original charm decorations on each side. Mounted on a custom metal base.    

Previously in the collection of Cathryn "Cathy" Cootner who was a textile curator at the Fine Arts Museum of San Francisco in the 1980's and 90's.
