OC595: Abelam Sago Peg

A good old Abelam sago peg with double ancestor heads. Sago pegs were used in to pin a screen of coconut fiber on the sieve in the process of making sago flour. The back side face has an old stable crack. Mounted on a custom metal base.    

Collected in the 1970's by Bruce Lawes.

17" tall by 2" wide. Early 20th century, East Sepik Province, Papua New Guinea.    ....$750.00
