PH530: Philippine Gong Handle

A rare Northern Philippine gong handle with two heads, from the KanKanay peoples. From each side there looks to be a woman on left side with long hair, and then on the right side a man with a helmet. The two holes for suspending the brass gong have a lot of wear, and the patina is good and dark from age and use.

Previously in the collection of Irwin Hersey the author of the book "Indonesian Primitive Art".
