INDO566: Mandau Handle

A very well carved mid 20 th century Mandau handle. This antler Mandau sword handle is intricately and deeply carved with multiple Aso motifs and adorned with hair. The end is plugged with a soft wooden plug that is painted red and black. I do not think this handle was ever used on a traditional sword, but it is a beautiful carving.
